In the tropical pyramid which houses Australian native plants a hennaed rope is suspended over the swamp. From multiple speakers issue individual voices of native frogs along with that of frog caller and breeder, Dion Hobcroft. The use of mimicry enticed some visitors to enter into a playful call and response in the lush terrain. This was one of several image/sound combinations in the Pyramid. "The objects blended into their luxuriant surroundings, and the sounds sculpted the air like so many leaf edges. (Doug Kahn, in RealTime 8-August-September 1995) |
